That topic, to be specific, is the impact of immigration from Mexico on women in the United States including implications related to the Mexican border crossing as well as the women's justice center. The impacts to women are multi-dimensional and actually end up impacting both citizens of the United States as well as the legal and illegal immigrants that come to the United States either from or through Mexico.
As noted in the introduction, the impacts to women as it relates to immigration at the Mexican border are very multi-dimensional and are actually quite disparate and similar at the same time depending on how one looks at it. Legal and illegal immigrant women face challenges because they often come across the border with their partner and/or their children. Other times, they cohabitate or even marry an American spouse and have children and face the prospect of being separated from their families when they (or their partner) face deportation for violating the immigration laws in the United States.
Even women that were born or are natives of the United States face issues. Women of Mexican of other Hispanic descent often face derision or even racism due to the deeply held biases and/or bigotry...
